Jeff LaRue brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and passion to JLbaseball, where he’s committed to helping players of all levels unlock their potential. With a storied baseball career and years of coaching expertise, Jeff’s journey exemplifies his deep love for the game and his desire to inspire the next generation of players.
Baseball Career Highlights
• High School Success: Graduated in 1999 from Santa Margarita Catholic High School, where he was a standout player, earning All-Sea View League honors in both 1998 and 1999.
• College Excellence: Played at Saddleback Community College, where he earned All-Conference honors in 2000 and 2001 and was later inducted into the Saddleback College Hall of Fame. Jeff went on to play at Washington State University, achieving All-PAC 10 honors in 2002 while earning his bachelor’s degree.
• Professional Career: Played independent baseball from 2004-2007 before signing with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Jeff competed for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in 2007 and played under Hall of Famer Gary Carter for the Orange County Flyers in 2008-2009. His professional career ended on a high note, delivering a walk-off hit to secure a league championship.
Coaching and Leadership
• Youth Development: Jeff has been providing private baseball instruction since 2003, working with players of all ages, from beginners to professional athletes. His personalized approach focuses on building fundamental skills, confidence, and a love for the game.
• High School Coaching: In 2009, served as the Head Freshman Baseball Coach at Aliso Niguel High School, playing a key role in developing young athletes during their foundational years. In 2022, took on the role of Varsity Hitting Coach at Santa Margarita Catholic High School, working under Head Coach Chris Malec to refine players’ offensive skills and overall performance.
• Founder of Jeff LaRue Baseball: In 2024, Jeff launched JL baseball to bring his extensive knowledge and passion for teaching to more players, offering comprehensive coaching and training programs.
Beyond the Field
Jeff’s leadership extends beyond baseball. From 2009-2017, he served his community as an EMT, Deputy Sheriff, and Police Officer, embodying the values of discipline, dedication, and service. His diverse experiences have shaped his coaching philosophy, emphasizing hard work, respect, and perseverance.
